A numerical Maxwell-Schrödinger model for intense laser-molecule interaction and propagation

چکیده
We present in this paper a numerical Maxwell-Schrödinger model and a methodology to simulate intense ultrashort lasers interacting with a 3D H 2 -gas under and beyond Born-Oppenheimer approximation. After a presentation of the model and a short mathematical study, we will examine some issues on its numerical computation. In particular we will focus on the polarization computation allowing the coupling between the Maxwell and time dependent Schrödinger equations (TDSE), on the parallelization, and on the boundary conditions problem for the TDSE. Examples of numerical computations of high order harmonics generation and of electric fields propagations are presented.

A Maxwell–Schrödinger Model for Non-perturbative Laser-molecule Interaction and Some Methods of Numerical Computation
We present in this paper a numerical Maxwell–Schrödinger model to simulate intense ultrashort laser pulses interacting with a H 2 -gas in the nonlinear non-perturbative regime. After presentation of the model and a short mathematical study, we propose a numerical approach for its computation. In particular we focus on the polarization computation allowing the coupling between the Maxwell and Sc...
متن کاملA numerical Maxwell-Schrödinger model for intense laser-matter interaction and propagation
We present in this paper an original ab initio Maxwell–Schrödinger model and a methodology to simulate intense ultrashort laser pulses interacting with a 3D H2 -gas in the nonlinear nonperturbative regime under and beyond Born–Oppenheimer approximation. The model we present is the first one to our knowledge (excepted in [E. Lorin, S. Chelkowski, A. Bandrauk, A Maxwell–Schrödinger model for non-...
متن کاملPropagation and Interaction of Electrostatic and Electromagnetic Waves in Two Stream Free Electron Laser in the Presence of Self-Fields
A relativistic theory for two-stream free electron laser (FEL) with a one-dimensional helical wiggler and ion-channel guiding in the presence of self-fields are presented. A dispersion relation (DR) which includes coupling between the electromagnetic and the electrostatic waves is derived from a fluid model, with all of the relativistic terms related to the transverse wiggler motion. This DR is...
متن کاملHigh frequency behaviour of the Maxwell-Bloch model with relaxations: convergence to the Schrödinger-Boltzmann system
Abstract We study the Maxwell-Bloch model, which describes the propagation of a laser through a material and the associated interaction between laser and matter (polarization of the atoms through light propagation, photon emission and absorption, etc.). The laser field is described through Maxwell’s equations, a classical equation, while matter is represented at a quantum level and satisfies a ...
متن کاملMathematical Models for Laser-plasma Interaction
We address here mathematical models related to the Laser-Plasma Interaction. After a simplified introduction to the physical background concerning the modelling of the laser propagation and its interaction with a plasma, we recall some classical results about the geometrical optics in plasmas. Then we deal with the well known paraxial approximation of the solution of the Maxwell equation; we st...
